Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Mangia Senza ("we", "us") helps people find gluten-free and dairy-free food. This policy explains what personal data we collect and why. Contact: hello@mangiasenza.com
What we collect
- Account details — if you create an account: your email address, and your password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile from Google.
- What you submit — reports, new places, notes and "I ate here safely" confirmations, linked to your account.
- Your location — used only on your device to centre the map and sort places by distance. We do not store it or send it to our servers.
- Searches — if you search for a postcode or area, the search text is sent to postcodes.io or OpenStreetMap to find it on the map.
- Basic usage data — our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, to run and secure the site and to count visitors.
Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To run your account and let you contribute — performance of our agreement with you.
- To review submissions, prevent abuse and keep listings accurate — our legitimate interests.
- To keep the service secure and understand overall usage — our legitimate interests.
We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Service providers who host and run the site for us: Lovable and its database provider Supabase (hosting, database and sign-in), Google (if you choose Google sign-in), and OpenStreetMap and postcodes.io (map images and search). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards.
Health information
Using a gluten-free or dairy-free filter, or confirming you ate somewhere safely, may suggest a dietary need. We don't ask for or record any medical condition, and public pages only show totals, never who confirmed.
How long we keep it
Account details are kept while your account is open. Your submissions stay on the site to keep listings accurate, but if you delete your account they are no longer linked to you. To delete your account, email hello@mangiasenza.com.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or move your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email hello@mangiasenza.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Storage on your device
We store your sign-in session and simple preferences (like your sort choice) in your browser so the site works. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above.
